Really honestly, feedback from an external who sees many companies:I'd like to see the existing ones being executed reliably and consistently before people add new habits on. I've seen many companies where even the basics are still executed incorrectly and/or not consistently.
It is rare that I see excellence being in place - in that case it is always good to add new planning "habits".

In 2024, I'm focusing on a collaborative planning approach that integrates the schedules, priorities, and insights of all IT stakeholders. This includes recognizing and accommodating planning dependencies and being mindful of both internal and external constraints that could impact our projects.
My aim is to align our team's efforts with these factors, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and team alignment. By actively engaging with stakeholders and my team, I intend to develop a comprehensive plan that is adaptable and attuned to our collective goals.

My big focus is to get people to look beyond the quarter in their planning. Yes, collaboratively plan the current quarter in detail while gaining commitments from all necessary resources. AND, collaboratively plan the next two years at a macro level so when we get to next quarter, everyone has insight into what details we'll need to discuss.
