There's a lot of great assessments out there, but I have to ask, what does "quality" mean for your company? Top sales? Fewer mistakes? Reduction in turnover? Organizational fit? Seeking certain behaviors/attributes? To pick the best assessment you need to know exactly what you are going for (and what's not working currently).

Difficult to say without knowing what you are looking for and at what seniority level. You should always start with a good job analysis and a thorough set of competencies (knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes) that you associate to a high performing individual in your frontline workforce. This can be done by shadowing, interviewing current high performers, their leads, analyse low performance, check performance reviews and historical data about the target group. Gartner of course can also provide you with insights, especially in view of future competencies you may consider. With all of that in your hands you can then identify peer-reviewed assessments (my recommendation would be to prioritise those that have been reviewed by the BPS in the UK) that fit the criteria, or most of the criteria, you require.
So 1) Job Analysis 2) Summary of competencies 3) identify peer-reviewed assessments that can measure traits predictive of what you are looking for!

Sounds brilliant.  Cross fertilisation of ideas, people understanding other jobs in the business.  I guess you'd want to make sure it didn't get out of control, but someone from one function helping someone in another has ...read more
