What is a tangible change you can implement right away to improve your functional relationship with marketing?

Sales and marketing should have clear and concise, consensually agreed upon  definitions of what the difference is between a prospect and a lead (MQL) and a contact and/or opportunity (SAL). There should be very clear rules for which of these are owned by marketing and what criteria should be met before marketing throws the lead over the fence to sales. There should be accountability on both teams for each lead sent to sales and it should be clear when sales will be returning leads back to marketing, so that each team can focus only on what they do best.

Build a good relationship with the marketing team and really show interest. communicate regularly, discuss your and their plans, share goals and objectives, find common business interest and needs, seek collaboration on campaigns.

Define lower level customers? Are you referring to non c level audience I.e. managers? Or enterprise c level vs small businesses?
