Implementing UKG HRIS can offer several significant benefits. Firstly, it can streamline HR processes, it can manual paperwork and administrative tasks, which in turn can improve HR efficiency and accuracy. The system enables better workforce management through features like time and attendance tracking, payroll processing, and performance management. Employee self-service portals empower staff to manage their HR-related tasks, freeing up HR personnel for more strategic initiatives. Additionally, UKG HRIS can enhance compliance efforts by automating record-keeping and reporting, helping organizations stay aligned with labor laws and regulations. Overall, the implementation of UKG HRIS can result in a more efficient, compliant, and employee-centric HR operation. However, successful implementation requires careful analysis of your specific HR needs, adequate training, and ongoing support to ensure the system aligns with the organization's HR objectives.

My experience with UKG HRIS is with the talent modules and LMS.

The LMS is buggy and not well supported by UKG. For instance, we've spent months trying to discontinue scheduled compliance training and relaunch it using a new schedule with credit to those who have taken the courses on the original schedule. We've confirmed that the upload files are correct with a UKG consultant but continue to receive errors.

The performance management module offers options for ratings and open-ended questions, but not both in the same review. It also does not allow for a double-blind input for employees and managers. We have not yet used other talent modules.

I understand from my colleagues that the core HR functions for employee records, payroll, timekeeping, document management, and benefits work fairly well.

I’m not familiar with UKG, but I’ve used Workday at a few different companies.  Workday offers global capabilities, including support for multiple languages, currencies, and compliance with various international labor laws and regulations. This will definitely simplify HR management since you have an international presence.  And as you know, Workday integrates HR, payroll, and finance functions into a single platform, which will help to streamline your operations, reduce data duplication, and improve data accuracy. Having a single source of truth for your data is a game changer!

If you are looking to pay globally, UKG will not meet your needs as they do not support payroll in Israel or India.  Both will be able to support almost all HR areas (Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent Management, Employee Surveys, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits) but Workday is much more streamlined than UKG.  Customer support is critical and I recommend talking to both current customers and customers who have left to understand their issues.
