How do you find the best CEO & executive coaches for the C-suite? Is it always word-of-mouth, or has anyone found a recruiter or aggregator that can make good introductions?

I work in the public sector, which means our contracting needs to go through a competitive process. We created a slate of executive coaches from an RFP process. Through this process SMEs validated the credentials and qualifications of the coaches. The result was a slate that included a range of options from boutique to large firms, with public and private sector experiences. When working with clients (internal leaders) they do not need to worry if a coach is qualified (we already did that when establishing the slate). Instead, they need to focus on finding the right coach-client fit to help them meet their goals. I think this helps take out some of the stress of choosing and helps our leaders feel confident in their coach selection.

Yes, I think this does help take out some of the stress beforehand.

We find that individual leaders may create their own relationships with coaches, so we have created endorsed panels. With these panels, I can get to know individual coaches and their sweet spots, and can manage quality and cost controls. We use a coaching brief that leaders complete, and I them match to coach based on their needs. My aim is to have quality coaches that offer a wide range of cost, so we can get good value for money. Some of our partners have access to scores of coaches. If you currently have no sight of coaching professionals where you're located, google a coaching association or similar and that will likely lead to contacts.

Our Talent Consulting practice boasts a network of over 400 trained Executive Coaches. To ensure the highest quality, we've established a panel of coaches rigorously vetted by our faculty, meeting stringent practice standards and consistently achieving high participant satisfaction ratings.

This panel of executive Coaches is categorized by coaching style, industry expertise, and experience level. This allows us to precisely match your CEO or C-Suite coachee with the top 3 coaches best suited to their needs. You can then meet these coaches for a chemistry session, empowering your coachee to select the coach they connect with most deeply.

I think it depends on the industry. Here is one article that supports this point of view: https://www.rewardgateway.com/blog/employee-turnover-rates-by-industry
