Could you please give me some examples about where are you building and deploying your data products? Background of the question is to understand if data products are deployed on top of existing D&A components (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Databricks, SAP Datasphere, etc.) OR is there any specific platform or tailor-made solution.

We use AWS Redshift to publish data products for consumption, we ingest, process, DQ, transform and aggregate in s3 prior to publishing. In past, we have built and published data products in Databricks, Snowflake and AWS s3.

We are 100% cloud native. For the large-scale data products, we use Fabric (for new dev), Synapse and Azure Databricks. 1st party Azure products are preferable to avoid the maintenance hassle. So, think Event hubs instead of Kafka. Also, these days there has been a heavy usage of Copilot.

We are deploying 'data products' or data assets from existing data platforms (predominantly Databricks and Datasphere in our case).  We then have analytics products that are built on our visualization platforms (Power BI and SAC) along with a master semantic model.  Outside of this we use have a custom built portal to bring together all of the analytics products into one user experience.

Ideally you want the data products to be residing in your data marketplace that would help with seamless sharing of data assets with the necessary governance in place. Lot of the current vendors like Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica etc. do provide marketplace capability that can be integrated with your data infrastructure. These marketplaces not only enhance data accessibility but also ensure compliance with data governance policies, thereby maximizing the value and security of your data assets. By leveraging the marketplace solution, you can create a more efficient, secure, and user-friendly environment for data product management and distribution.
