This ensures varied perspectives contribute to hiring decisions and promotes an inclusive environment. Additionally, establishing metrics for creating diverse candidate pools is crucial, emphasizing the importance of recruiting from diverse sources and targeting specific demographics. On the retention side, developing targeted development opportunities, like the recent event I organized for women in our North Carolina region to attend, can address specific gaps in leadership diversity and foster a supportive network within the organization.
