This might help companies where employees are spread across a lot of time zones. It would allow for longer overlap in normal working hours. At least as far east as Germany. Still won’t help much with India or China unless you are willing to start really early for the extra time per day. (From a N.American time zone perspective)

We are offering an option of 4 days a week to employee and surprisingly not a lot of employees are selecting this option.

Has the company surveyed to ask why? My inclination personally would be the same. It’s similar to a company offering unlimited PTO but employees not taking advantage of it -- or taking even fewer days than the standard two weeks -- because they feel uncomfortable navigating the ambiguity between their work being complete and no prescribed number of days to take off.

We have multiple different shift options. We do a compressed work week for some if it works for the business area.
