Without disclosing any specific vendor names - What was the most egregious experience you've had with a software vendor that still makes you wonder, “Did that really happen? Did they truly do that?”

A very large and well known software vendor had pitched a complete platform to us, a platform that hadn't been developed yet, it was nothing but a powerpoint deck. The sheer audacity of selling vaporware was astounding. (we didn't sign with them).
