Endpoint protection is highly dependent on your particular infrastructure, your location(s) world-wide and the laws you must adhere to, your company's expertise in such products, how it would fit into your larger cyber defense and insider threat programs, etc.  What works for one company might not work for your company.  Instead, I would recommend that you hire a cyber security consultancy company to evaluate your particular situation and to make a recommendation.  Ensure the company you hire is not affiliated with any particular cyber security company - you are looking for an informed and objective opinion and then you can go from there.  Last thing, expect to implement multiple programs/services to secure, defend, and guard against insider threats to your infrastructure.

Selecting the right endpoint protection products for a global manufacturing company with 20,000 systems is a critical decision. The choice should address the unique challenges of your industry, the scale of operations, and the need for robust security. Here are some recommendations:

1. Symantec Endpoint Protection:
   - Symantec is a well-established player in the cybersecurity space.
   - Offers advanced threat protection, including antivirus, anti-malware, and behavioral analysis.
   - Has features like intrusion prevention, device control, and application control.

2. CrowdStrike Falcon (*Must see their capabilities*)
   - Utilizes cloud-native architecture for real-time threat detection and response.
   - Provides endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and incident response capabilities.
   - Known for its effectiveness against advanced threats and malware.

3. Trend Micro Apex One:
   - Offers a blend of advanced threat protection and detection capabilities.
   - Provides endpoint security, email security, and web security in a comprehensive package.
   - Features behavior monitoring, application control, and vulnerability shielding.

4. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:
   - Integrated with Windows 10, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint offers a built-in solution.
   - Provides advanced threat protection, endpoint detection and response, and automated investigation and response.
   - Suitable for organizations with a Microsoft-centric infrastructure.

5. Kaspersky Endpoint Security:
   - Kaspersky is recognized for its antivirus and anti-malware capabilities.
   - Offers a range of features, including application control, device control, and network attack blocker.
   - Provides centralized management and reporting.

While choosing an endpoint protection solution, consider factors such as scalability, ease of management, integration capabilities with your existing infrastructure, and the specific security needs of your manufacturing environment. It's also crucial to stay updated on the latest threats and ensure that the chosen solution can adapt to evolving cybersecurity challenges. Additionally, consider engaging with the vendors for proof of concept (POC) trials to assess the product's effectiveness in your specific environment before making a final decision which I am sure you would anyways do :)

If you have a full Gartner license, they have a benchmarking tool that maps out to your industry.  It was useful for my needs.
