We recently had an ERP implementation, which was a great opportunity to reevaluate how tasks are being done. Our vendor offered numerous enhancements to streamline our processes. We are also exploring robotics and other technologies to automate manual input tasks, such as invoice processing. Our goal is to use technology to simplify processes, reduce clicks, and enable self-service wherever possible. We also aim to use AI to replace mundane tasks, allowing our employees to shift from inputting data to analyzing it.

Currently, we are not utilizing enough technology to streamline our workflows. However, about a year and a half ago, we purchased a chatbot for IT service management. This software was bought to improve both the student and employee experience, with a focus on help. In the future, I see companies replacing traditional intranets with generative AI for enterprise search. This technology will greatly enhance the employee experience. In terms of workflows, onboarding and offboarding are the most challenging in our environment. We are looking to automate these processes using system workflows, low code/no code platforms, and potentially software from companies like Workato.

We recently implemented an ERP system that unified four significant silos in our business, all operating around the same work. In just 45 days, we were able to centralize our supply chain operations around this single source of truth system, eliminating the need for 20 to 30 other assets. This has allowed us to solve problems in real-time, greatly improving our efficiency. We also made a significant switch to Teams, which has enabled our employees to create their own workflows and templates, leading to increased efficiency.

If you have a full Gartner license, they have a benchmarking tool that maps out to your industry.  It was useful for my needs.

Implementation of Zero trust architecture, its modules across the organisation is a priority for us. So, we will be implementing zero trust strategies in IAM, inline with overall strategy.
