In public-sector healthcare, I use automation in all the traditional corporate areas (workforce & HR, finance, IT, payroll, etc) but excel at automating complex clinical pathways such as cancer two-week waits, patient appointment scheduling, and clinical diagnostics. I see its value as a first step in moving towards automation. So when moving from paper-based to digital systems, it's often too costly to start with custom solution right away. I see RPA as an interim step.
