What's your favorite docking station? We are replacing our Dell laptops with HP and aren't happy with the current HP docking station (hockey puck). We are looking for third-party docks that provide dual display, ethernet, etc. Specifically reviewing some Belkin, HP hub (w/ additional power cord), and some Amazon.
The majority of our users use two monitors with dual 24-inch monitors (some DP, some HDMI). They usually have their laptop closed. Usually, if someone is using the laptop as a screen, it's because they have one monitor (their choice).
No SD card is required. 1GB ethernet. Audio (in/out) jack is nice to have for some of our earbud users. Multiple USB ports for the webcam, headset, wireless keyboard, and mouse are needed.
We are migrating from Dell to HP. Currently, we use Dell Dock WD19S. I've read good things about the Dell Dock WD22TB4 also.
We need:
USB-C with power delivery (65 watts)
Dual display ports (we have some HDMI and some Display Port)
-A dock with multiple options for displays is great.
1 GB Nic
USB (multiple) ports
Audio out is nice to have.
We've also had some luck with Sabrent USB Type C Dual 4k Universal Docking Station with USB C Power Delivery (DS-WSPD).
It has a separate power brick, NIC, dual displays (each with HDMI and DP option), 4 USB ports, 2 USB C, 1 USB C w/PD, and audio jacks. The only issue we've had with this device is supply chain issues.
100w power supply
Gigabit Ethernet
2 video stream inputs (both have a HDMI2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.2a to choose from)
3 USB 3.0 ports
1 powered USB 3.0 (on 'left' side of dock
1 USB 3.1 Gen1 and combined Mic & Headphone port on 'right' side of block
and 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type C to laptop
Dock has a lock slot for securing and has screw holes in base for attaching to desks if desired
Good form factor and having powered usb on one side, with type c and audio on other means accessible ports without going to back of dock
Thank you Joshua
