One significant challenge has been managing the costs associated with AI implementations. Even with all the necessary tools available on the portal, it becomes quite difficult to segregate and accurately attribute costs to the projects utilizing these services. We often deal with scenarios involving multiple service providers, which complicates the process of rebuilding costs across various projects worldwide. This complexity extends to budget management within my role, where it's challenging to predict usage and control spending to avoid exceeding the budget.Global Digital Workplace Sr. Director, Global Technology & Security in Healthcare and Biotecha month ago
Beyond the issue of costs, which is indeed significant, setting proper expectations has been another major hurdle. The discrepancy between the expectations set by marketing—such as the capabilities seen in AI product commercials—and the actual performance of the technology can lead to disappointment. This gap often results from the high expectations set by promotional materials, which do not always align with current technological capabilities. Understanding this early on would have influenced different strategic decisions to manage expectations more effectively.Director of IT in Educationa month ago
As for our experience, we are still in the early stages of our AI projects, so I might not have extensive insights into retrospective challenges. However, we've taken a very prescriptive approach to managing expectations and outcomes. We clearly outline what stakeholders should expect and not expect, and what might occur, documenting all potential concerns and anticipated scenarios. This preparation helps us mitigate unforeseen challenges and manage stakeholder expectations effectively from the start.
