It’s proving to be a distraction for leadership and the board. My approach is to focus on the strategy that AI could help support. AI can work as a solution to complement and better enable digital transformation, but it shouldn’t be the north star that companies aim for.

It can be viewed as another tool in the toolbox to drive/enable/support digital transformation. Like any new technology, it will go through the hype cycle, and stabilize.

We are at the heart of evaluating Gen AI technolgy across several use cases, so we do see the immense potential, while also being cognizant of the pitfalls.

What I see is that companies are doing everything they can to be part of this digital transformation, even though they are not structurally ready and the staff lacks the culture of these new paradigms.
AI and Generative AI are re-engineering internal workflows and impacting personnel management policies and staffing.
