How involved are other teams (e.g. sales, operations, logistics, finance) in your integrated business planning? Are they making key decisions, or simply providing their "blessing"? Are certain teams more involved than others?

Currently we do not have a forecasting, demand planning, or fully functioning SIOP or IBP processes. Nearly all planning is supply planning: Procurement -> Planning/Scheduling -> Production -> Shipping, converting sales orders input by Customer Care (Sales Operations). All functions are making key decisions. Finance has little/no involvement in day-to-day decisions.

In my opinion, we have a very well-integrated business planning process. All functions mentioned above, including our logistics and supply chain organization, are included in this process. These groups are empowered to explore opportunities and signals within their respective franchises to make decisions. They are not simply providing a blessing but working collaboratively to assess what opportunities exist on the S&OP horizon and make the right decisions on behalf of the franchise. Those tiered functions also include a higher level of management supported by finance, global supply chain, sales, and marketing to ensure that we are represented cross-functionally at each level in the organization.
