In my experience, it's pretty rare for companies to consume third party data directly into dashboards without first ensuring the external data conforms to internal data governance and quality standards.  This can span anything from simple data transformations to manual data stewardship.

With regards to the purchasing of data feeds does anyone have experience of using Snowflake's Data Marketplace?  Seems like an interesting capability but no direct experience of seeing it in action and the value.

Have clear business requirements up front, make sure the proposal includes items such as scope, timeline, cost, resources.
