We are using First Advantage for reference check, except for US all other countries Reference check is managed by FADV. For US Region we are using Occuscreen. Though reference check process is managed by a third party it falls under HR onboarding and managed by the Global Human Resources Shared Services team. We have a company policy on reference check and only employees clearing the reference check and BGV can successfully join the organization. In India, the reference check process also includes checking UAN No. to ensure the person is not actively working with any other company, this has been a mandate after we found many employees moonlighting.

Thank you, ours is outsourced which works okay not great😞

Reference checking on a global scale involves verifying important employment information such as job titles, places of employment, skills, qualifications, and education.

The effectiveness of reference checking can vary in different regions of the world.

Companies typically have HR policies that cover who should check references, how to check them, and how to comply with laws about reference and background checks

Best practices for reference checks include obtaining authorisation, verifying applicant information, and providing accurate information when called as a reference for a former employee

Reference checking is an objective evaluation of an applicant's past job performance based on information collected from key individuals, and it is primarily used to verify the accuracy of information given by job applicants and predict their success by comparing their experience to the job's competencies

It is important to be aware of the legal issues surrounding reference checking, as it is illegal for an employer to give a negative or false employment reference because of a person's race, color, religion, sex, and other protected characteristics

Streamlining the reference checking process can help companies manage it more effectively which we found.

Hope this helps & happy to connect and discuss.

Thnx
