It starts from the top, and everyone needs to be on the same page from the outset. This means that both business and technology leaders need to come together to define what these metrics mean to them and how they align with the overall company goals. That alignment sets a clear direction for the entire organization and helps in creating a unified approach to achieving the company’s goals.

I work with the business to define KPIs. These are observable values (quantity, percentage, money, etc). Then I automated the regular collection of data to measure the current values for the business defined KPIs and store the results in a big data database. Finally I build dashboards that show progress of the current data towards the KPIs
