I am looking for a recommendation from companies that run on SAP ECC or S/4HANA: Do you recommend to implement SAP MDG (In particular SAP MDG for financials), or do you recommend other MDM solution exists on the market (e.g. Tibco-Apgar, Informatica, etc..)?

It depends. If your master data scenarios are not very complex and the application portfolio mainly consists of SAP then MDG would have significant advantages. If the opposite holds then it may be recommended to look at best-of-breed solutions like Informatica MDM.

We are still on ECC. We currently use a 3rd party solution for MDM. We did try MDG for some finance data, but found it cumbersome and just not able to control data as we wanted, so undeployed it. As we begin to think about S/4, it is an area we want to re-evaluate. Initial thought is more of a SaaS solution.

Thanks a lot for all who responded.
In a poll generated in this peer community, it shows that although many companies run on SAP ECC, or S/4HANA, only ~13% use SAP MDG-F whereas ~30% use Tibco EBX.

Will appreciate if companies that run on SAP and decided not to implement the MDG-F will advise on what were the main reasons for that (Pros/Cons) and companies that decided to implement the Tibco EBX (potentially also with the Apgar finance accelerator), will comment on the main reasons (Pros/Cons).

I have just been asked by an exec from another function to audit a critical project in their portfolio which does not appear to be going well. I have some ideas based on my own PMO experience, but wanted to explore how peers might think about approaching such an exercise.
