Have you successfully delivered RPA automation use cases using Agile? Incremental delivery is, most of the time, impossible as the full script has to be developed/deployed in order to get the first benefit.

We use agile framework for RPA delivery and we have been successful in doing so. If you can focus on how you chunk the process and deliver the automation, you should be able to do the same. All these depends on what your framework is on how to pick a process as well.

A good RPA solution will enable an agile-centric mindset and is flexible enough to connect different technologies, and platforms to speed delivery and decrease operational costs. As $$ savings are realized, COE can be formed to scale RPA throughout the organization promoting developing standards, better estimates on sizing (LOE), coordinating and supporting/enabler team with training and RPA journeys building an automation ecosystem. In my energy and banking experience, it took us bout 2 years to get to the desired state where we could then plug AI, and chatbots efficiently. As automation evolves, and continual change occurs,  we added the RPA sidebar tool to simplify the complexity everywhere and handle scenarios that require human  cognitive function and at the same time focus on resiliency amid new business opportunities and requirements

While it’s true that each individual automation script needs to be fully developed and deployed to realize its benefits, this doesn’t contradict the principles of Agile.

In an Agile RPA approach, the overall automation strategy is broken down into smaller, manageable parts. Each automation script can represent a complete user story that delivers value and can be developed and deployed independently.

This allows for iterative development and continuous improvement, which are key aspects of Agile.

If you're trying to break each use case down into mutiple stories then you are getting too granular.
