Among the various contract lifecycle management tools available in the market, what do you think of various options like Docusign, SAP ARIBA, Icertis, Coupa? With a dominantly SAP based landscape, which could be a more suitable one? Consider it's a long term investment.

I do not have experience with Icertis nor Coupa. However I do have experience with DocuSign and SAP ARIBA.

DocuSign is very convenient and easy to use. The company has quality support and I do not feel like their pricing is excessive.

SAP is too big for its own good and their ARIBA solution is horrible. From foreign support and non-english-as-a-first-language reps to their complicated processes and from their convoluted fee structure to their overly complex platform and dashboard, I'd never recommend ARIBA.

If I were considering investing in a long-term solution, I'd consider ERPs with DocuSign integration or building your own platform using a combination of WordPress, Gravity Forms, Gravity Flow and Gravity PDF.

So many people only see WordPress as a website creation tool or a content management tool, but it could be so much more. For instance, I often use it as a middleware application for syncing data. Adding Gravity Forms to WordPress gives you the ability to collect form data and related meta-data. Gravity Flow gives you the ability to create work flows and Gravity PDF gives you the ability to create PDF documents. When used together, you could create your own Contract Lifecycle Management Tool; designed specifically for your needs.

The above being said, I'm not suggesting YOU have to build your own system, when I suggest WordPress, Gravity Forms, Gravity Flow and Gravity PDF. There are a number of quality teams that can help you with this effort and if you are looking for a good place to start, get in touch with the Gravity Flow team. They are great.

I had experience with ARIBA prior to acquisition and 13 years of SAP global footprint experience. I have no recent experience on SAP ARIBA.
Recommend ARIBA, but caution, it depends on process and people more than the IT.
Highly recommend SAP ARIBA for a SAP landscape. Plugins, bolt-ons and best of breed approach integration is always, imho, more trouble than it is worth.

We are about to start a tender process for this and going to attempt to use the Buy Smart functionality. We also have a SAP based architecture for our ERP however it is unlikely we will go with Ariba mainly based on cost and complexity.
