Re: Timeframe from Request to Installation (6-10 Days) -

Poll Follow-Up Questions & Our Organization Process: For New comptuer requests

Organization Size: We manage around 36,000 endpoints.

Timeframe Breakdown:

Request & Approval: 1-3 days for processing and leader approval.
Purchasing & PO Issuance: Up to 3 days for PO generation and issuance to the vendor.
VAR Imaging & Shipping: 3-5 days for imaging, configuration, and shipping by the VAR, either to hubs or directly to large facilities.
Internal Routing: If routed via a hub, add 5 days for internal shipping to the installation site.
Final Installation: 5-10 days for installation, depending on user and technician availability.

Overall, our process takes an average of 22 business days, reflecting the operational scale and logistical complexity. This doesn't identify need to reduce the times as the metrics gather overall business days so end users may need the device in 4 months or in 4 days. IT goal has been to automate and eliminate IT managed processes.

Curious to learn how others in the 6–10-day range manage, especially in terms of organization size and logistical strategies.
