I have been finding that in person training on some of the basic software programs has increased staff effectiveness. Online training is good, but what methods work best in your environment?

It's hard to answer this, though.  Not everyone learns well without an instructor-led option

It’s easy to create the connect with subject when it comes to instructor led training.

I find that for the most part when there is an instructor for people to interact with ask questions see things have them slow down go back things like that they tend to pick it up better because it's more one on the arm and they can learn it at their own face some of the online ones are more difficult because you're just along for the ride there's no slowing down you have to keep up

We have been migrating to several new tools and we are finding simple tasks, basic best practice items and some of the common things us IT folks take for granted, users are just not doing or learning or taking the time to figure out.  That means productivity gaps/issues.  My staff has spent time in some simple 1:1 sessions as they filter in with questions and those snippets of time spent, gain some quality skills with users walking away enlightened.

Online tools are fabulous, but spending 30min in a group session with staff has begun to help them increase their effectiveness.  At least in our experience.

I consider training modality on a case-by-case basis. Lots of variables to consider. For example, for a short, 30-min orientation, online makes sense. For a complex topic that requires intense engagement, in-person is best. Happy to chat more with you.
