We need monitoring tools to take a step up and step forward. Everyone remembers What's Up Gold and it's pretty basic Up/Down status. While we're gathering more data these days, few systems are doing anything intelligent with this data except to present it to the users as simple metrics or to alert on thresholds exceeded, which is great, but not particularly intelligent. Looking at the options, it seems to me that out of these four Zabbix is the only one to start studying the data it's gathering and indicate where you may have a problem in the near future and how long until you get to that problem based on baseline analysis. Next Generation monitoring tools will need this ability to identify problems, bottlenecks, etc. faster.Observability & Monitoring Architect in Retail2 months ago
In brief, SolarWinds provides scalability and intuitive interfaces but comes with a higher price tag, whereas Zabbix is more budget-friendly, supports cross-platform compatibility, and offers extensive customization options.
