We are looking for a template to capture the current state of AI within the organization and document current exploratory opportunities. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We are using Abacus - a tool that helps us capture an inventory of all our applicaitons including a lot of information. For starters a shared document will help with deciding on all the attributes you would like to collect to make any meaningful suggestions or decisions. There are several tools popping up. But, none of them are mature enough yet so I would wait for some of the issues to be ironed out and the tools to become more standardized.Worldwide Strategy & Portfolio, Cross Industry (Supply Chain, ESG, Engineering, Customer Experience, Intelligence Automation, ERP) in Manufacturing10 months ago
I would recommend a portfolio tool that captures use cases and associated solution responses to each use case. As we all know, the data is only as good what has been input. For inventory cataloging I would recommend a minimum set of data: Function/Area, use case, solution, solution details, outcome, owner, test results link, status, active date and and searchable tags (sustainability, transportation, greenlogistics, logistics, etc) so that the repository can be leveraged by those looking to solve problems that have similar use case or the use case can be the solution to multiple problems. To get an organizational pulse, we did a brief survey that had questions like "how many active AI projects are you working on" and "approximately how many FTEs are you allocating to AI related work"? We sent this out to various institute/ department heads that were representative of our business units. My recommendation would be as with any survey to start with the end in mind - what are you trying to discover, what's the format we want the data in, and how do we plan to use it. Going forward, we are leveraging our current IT Project intake process to document all ideas around AI.
