Do you can add some examples of what you are thinking about?Director of Marketing4 months ago
The answer to this depends on organization size. In my experience, small organizations and startups cannot function without a solid marketing department (even if it's made of a one person marketing team) so there is higher value there than in large enterprises where marketing is a functionary department and not a value-driven one. In my organization, marketing takes charge of communication strategies, branding, PR, and even sales because we are a small team that relies on marketing expertise for visibility and profitability.

Helping the organization meet its financial goals. Over-simplifying, but an example would be: We're not hitting goal on [fill in the blank] product? Market more/differently/creatively. There's a direct correlation between marketing effort and goal achievement.COO in Finance (non-banking)4 months ago
In a smaller organisation: it is partnering with the sales team to drive sales. In a larger organisation, it is being able to be a strategic partner to drive branding across all touchpoints and external materials
