How are security leaders at manufacturing companies handling the use of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools that have gained tremendous popularity lately while not fully mature? Prohibit?Prohibit with an exception process? Issue strong guidelines on how to use? Something else?

So far we have been leaning towards option 3, so as not to stifle innovation while still making sure people are aware of the risks & of their responsibilities. Prohibiting the tools can also quickly devolve into a game of whack-a-mole as new options appear every day. At the same time, we would like to quickly get onboard with corporate-friendly options from our cloud providers, be it collaboration tooling (Google Workspace, Office365) or cloud infra (AWS, GCP, Azure) so that we can continue to build in a safer environment.CISO in Manufacturinga year ago
Thank you, . Our thoughts exactly. The quicker we provide proper guidance and manage the chaos, the better outcome we will have. It would also address the risk as well.
